Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs (CHYE) is expanding its impact with the relaunch of Crown Ventures, an investment fund focused on early-stage businesses led by frum founders. This initiative marks a significant step for the organization after 13 years of mentoring entrepreneurs and facilitating the launch of over 200 businesses.
The fund provides capital investments ranging from $50,000 to $100,000. These funds target 10 to 20 early-stage companies that demonstrate clear industry knowledge and market demand. While CHYE connects founders to the fund, all investment decisions remain independent under the leadership of Daniel Cotlar, Danny Fishman, and Levi Sudak.
Beyond capital, the primary goal of the fund is to supply mentorship and operational guidance to founders. The leadership team intends to focus on technology-enabled businesses, particularly those using artificial intelligence to address inefficiencies in sectors like healthcare, finance, and logistics. One notable early investment is OneFlo, a platform that automates post-acute healthcare transitions.
Daniel Cotlar, a General Partner at Crown Ventures, notes that while the cost to build a business has decreased due to cloud technology and AI, many founders still lack the specific guidance required to reach initial milestones. The fund intends to fill this gap by pairing financial resources with the hands-on experience of its general partners. Fishman brings extensive healthcare background, and Sudak contributes expertise in scaling operations.
Founders who do not secure investment will still maintain access to mentorship opportunities through CHYE. The organization continues to serve as a hub for educational and networking events for the community. Interested founders or accredited investors can find details on the application process and fund priorities through the official Crown Ventures website.
