Following the bankruptcy of Salad and Go, many employees found themselves without jobs or severance. Tony Christofellis, the original founder of the salad chain, is stepping in to offer new roles at his company, Angie’s.
Christofellis, who co-founded Salad and Go in 2013 before selling to a private equity firm in 2021, expressed frustration regarding how the former staff was treated. He noted that the lack of severance for front-line workers motivated him to reach out and provide an alternative path for those looking for work.
Angie’s is hiring for several positions at higher pay rates than what those workers previously received. Base employees are being offered $18.51 per hour, while shift leads and assistant managers are eligible for $21.51 and $22.51 per hour respectively. Six staff members have already joined the team.
This hiring initiative comes as Angie’s prepares for a period of growth. The company has plans to open seven new locations before the end of the year and another 20 throughout 2027. The company goal is to operate 50 locations within the next five years.
Christofellis emphasized that his firm operates on a merit-based system. He is looking for hard workers with a positive attitude to join his growing team. Interested candidates are encouraged to reach out as the company expands its footprint across the region.
