Building Stronger Workforces Through Inclusive Employment

Meaningful employment serves as a foundation for independence and community connection. Opportunity House works to provide this foundation through its Small Group Employment Program, which focuses on matching individuals with disabilities to roles that suit their unique abilities while serving local businesses.

This initiative moves away from one-size-fits-all models. Instead, the organization partners with companies to customize job responsibilities. Each team consists of three workers and a dedicated job coach who remains on-site to provide consistent training and guidance. This structure ensures that workers are successful and businesses receive consistent, reliable support for tasks such as janitorial work and light assembly.

Currently, the program supports 19 participants across four different sites. These placements allow individuals to build professional skills and expand their social networks, while businesses gain access to a committed workforce that adds diverse perspectives to the office or shop floor. The program is designed to create lasting, positive outcomes for both parties by prioritizing a supportive environment.
