Racine County celebrated a key milestone on Friday as 117 students finished the 2026 Summer Youth Employment Program. This event marked the sixth year of the county initiative designed to connect local teens with real-world work experience.
Throughout the eight-week program, 117 participants between the ages of 15 and 18 received on-the-job training at more than 50 participating local businesses. These students earned $14 an hour while gaining practical experience in professional environments. The program focuses on building essential job skills that prepare these young adults for their future careers.
A completion ceremony took place at the Wieczorek Pavilion at Pritchard Park in Racine to honor the achievements of the students. Local leaders and business owners gathered to recognize the hard work of the graduating cohort and the success of the ongoing partnership between the public sector and private industry.
