Prediction market platform Polymarket is taking steps to tighten its operations and marketing approach ahead of a high-volume season. With the NFL season approaching in September and midterm elections scheduled for November, the company is preparing for a projected surge in trading activity.

To support this growth, Polymarket has brought on Travis VanderZanden, the founder of Bird, to serve as chief growth officer. VanderZanden will also lead the company's marketing department. This shift follows reports regarding misleading promotional practices that caught the attention of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The company is now working with the consulting firm AlixPartners to ensure all promotional content meets new internal standards and guidelines.

Beyond marketing changes, the company has bolstered its staff across key departments. Recent additions include Megan McGrath from Robinhood as chief compliance officer for the U.S. exchange and Natalie Oblazny from Coinbase as head of regulatory affairs. Shana Bautista joined as global head of investigations and intelligence, and Paul Jordan moved from Nasdaq to serve as chief risk officer for the U.S. branch.

These organizational changes reflect a broader effort to stabilize the platform as it navigates both regulatory oversight and the technical demands of a busy autumn calendar. The U.S. exchange, which opened its doors in May, remains a focal point for this recruitment push.
