Y'all Street launches: Texas Stock Exchange goes live in Dallas
The Texas Stock Exchange, known as the TXSE, is officially open for business in Dallas. This new platform marks the first major stock exchange to debut in the United States in decades. Backed by heavyweights including BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, and Charles Schwab, the exchange positions itself as a direct competitor to the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq.
The TXSE aims to capitalize on the rapid economic growth of the region, which it refers to as the Boom Belt. This area contributes significantly to the national economy, with an annualized GDP of $8.9 trillion and a majority share of recent domestic job growth. By establishing a primary corporate and ETP listings venue in the heart of Texas, the organizers intend to draw companies away from traditional coastal hubs.
Operations are currently based in temporary offices in the Uptown district, but plans are set to shift to a permanent headquarters at the Bank of America Tower. This future space will feature executive offices, a dedicated business museum, and a high-end broadcast studio to highlight the regional market.
While the exchange is now live for trading, corporate listings are expected to arrive later this year. The TXSE also plans to facilitate its first initial public offerings in 2027. This launch arrives as Texas continues to attract corporate headquarters from states with higher tax burdens, signaling a potential shift in the center of gravity for American financial markets.
