Kestra Financial has appointed Kelly Apple to lead its wealth management division. The Texas-based firm selected Apple to fill the vacancy created when John Amore moved into the role of company president in April 2025. Her new position involves overseeing key functions including investment management, high-net-worth planning, retirement services, and the firm's breakaway-advisor channel.
Apple joins Kestra following a career that includes thirteen years at BlackRock, where she served as managing director and head of national accounts. She also held leadership roles at DWS Investments and Van Kampen Investments. Her background in distribution and advisor partnerships is a central focus for the firm as it looks to strengthen its service offerings.
This leadership change follows an internal restructuring at Kestra. Amore held the wealth management duties temporarily during the search for a permanent head. His focus shifted to broader company leadership, and the appointment of Apple provides a dedicated executive to drive the firm's wealth strategy.
The industry faces a tightening market for talent, and Kestra's focus includes expanding its footprint with asset management partners. With the increasing presence of alternative investments in client portfolios, Apple's oversight of due diligence and advisory solutions is a priority for the firm. Her work will involve supporting a community of advisors who require specialized resources to manage complex client needs.
