The second group consists of individuals who receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income benefits concurrently.

For those who receive Supplemental Security Income exclusively, payments are scheduled for Friday, July 31. This adjustment is necessary because the first of the month falls on a non-business day. The Social Security Administration typically issues these funds to low-income individuals over the age of 65 or those with qualifying disabilities regardless of past work history.

Recipients can manage their direct deposits or update bank details through the official online portal. Alternatively, beneficiaries can use the Direct Express debit card for federal disbursements. Those who need assistance with their account settings or who have questions regarding their payment status can contact the Social Security office directly.

For the remaining millions of beneficiaries, payment dates depend on the individual's date of birth. Payments for these groups occur on the second, third, or fourth Wednesday of August. If a beneficiary claims funds based on a spouse's employment record, the payment date is determined by that spouse's date of birth. Recipients are encouraged to monitor their accounts accordingly.
