VastAdvisor Secures Capital for Organic Growth
VastAdvisor, an AI-focused startup aiming to improve organic growth for wealth management firms, has closed a $1 million funding round. The investment was led by several prominent industry figures, including Dani Fava of Carson Group, Jason Pereira of Woodgate Financial, and Sally George of Convergency Partners. The company launched in March 2026 under the leadership of co-founder and CEO Ian Karnell.
The capital infusion comes via a Simple Agreement for Future Equity, a structure often favored by startups for its speed and simplicity. According to the company, the funds will support product development and market expansion. The platform targets asset acquisition by combining AI-driven audience intelligence, campaign orchestration, and compliance automation into a single interface. The business has also made recent additions to its executive team, including Phil Gale as chief operating officer and Eli Gassert as chief technology officer.
FP Transitions Expands Analytical Tools
FP Transitions, a provider of business valuation and succession services based in Portland, Oregon, has introduced a new benchmarking tool for wealth management firms. The Estimated Value Index is available through the company’s existing FPInsights platform. It provides firm owners with a score ranging from 1 to 100, based on financial performance and industry metrics. The tool offers a comparative view against peers in the firm's database, with the goal of helping owners measure and build enterprise value over time.
Alongside this technical launch, FP Transitions announced the hiring of Tom Kimberly as its first chief operating officer. Kimberly brings experience from firms such as McKinsey & Company, Barclays, and Fidelity Labs. His new mandate includes the integration of business intelligence and consulting services. This move underscores the company's focus on translating proprietary data into actionable tools for advisors managing the transition of their business.
Adoption of AI at NewEdge Capital Group
NewEdge Capital Group reports early success following the rollout of access to Anthropic’s Claude AI in June 2026. The firm, which supports more than 450 advisors, notes that staff members have used the technology to create retirement roadmaps and simplify complex insurance contract language. According to NewEdge Advisors CEO Alex Goss, the speed of adoption exceeded original internal projections, with advisors effectively building custom client webinar content in minutes.
NewEdge is now developing a formal library of best practices and collaborative forums to share usage strategies. The cost of the deployment is split between the firm’s corporate entity and individual advisors. This initiative places NewEdge among a growing number of large RIAs, including LPL Financial and iCapital, that are forming direct partnerships with AI vendors to build custom integrations for the wealth management sector.

CurrentClient, which raised $1.25 million in seed funding earlier this year, integrates with existing advisor software like Wealthbox CRM.
The partnership addresses specific demand from members for a unified communication system. CurrentClient previously received industry recognition, having won the “Best in Show” title at the 2024 XYPN LIVE AdviceTech Competition. This move adds another layer to XYPN’s growing partner ecosystem, which aims to provide its members with technology that increases operational efficiency. The integration ensures that all text and voice communications remain compliant with industry archiving standards.
