Fort Wayne native Michael Benner returned to his hometown this weekend to celebrate a significant career milestone. Benner, a graduate of Snider High School, saw his new children’s book, Mac & Cheese: The Origin Story, claim the number one spot on the New York Times bestseller list.

The book follows a pasta noodle named Mac on a journey into a new land called Quesoland. Along the way, the character discovers the true meaning of friendship. This release marks the start of Benner’s new literary series titled Delicious Duos, which debuted in July 2026.

To commemorate the success, Benner held a special book signing event at Sunbound Books on North Anthony Boulevard this Saturday. He spent the morning reading excerpts from the story and connecting with local readers who came out to support his work.

Mac & Cheese: The Origin Story is available for purchase at local bookstores like Sunbound Books and major retailers including Barnes & Noble. It is also available online for those looking to secure a copy of the bestseller.
