Central New York author Jon Selzer has released his latest children's book titled JoJo Soars and Scores. The story focuses on a platypus named JoJo who dreams of playing lacrosse. Despite facing physical challenges and being discouraged by teammates, JoJo finds success by incorporating skills he learned in ballet classes into his game. This second installment in the JoJo series aims to teach children that everyone brings unique value to a team.

Selzer, who lives in the local area, wrote this book as part of his broader mission through his organization Today’s Seeds. The group focuses on increasing opportunities for children to engage with the arts. By weaving themes of persistence and self-acceptance into the narrative, the book provides relatable lessons for young readers.

This release is the second in a planned five-book series featuring JoJo. Each story serves as a vehicle to encourage kids to explore different artistic outlets while learning how to contribute their own talents to group settings. Selzer hopes the book serves as a positive resource for local families and schools looking for literature that emphasizes teamwork and individual growth.
