The Dolly Parton estate has finalized plans for two large-scale events in 2027 titled DollyFest: The Celebration of a Lifetime. These festivals will occur on consecutive weekends in Nashville and London. They mark the first official, large-scale public programs sanctioned by the estate to honor the singer's legacy.
This decision replaces the concept of a traditional, somber public memorial. Longtime business partner and CEO of CTK Enterprises Danny Nozell confirmed that Parton herself did not want a traditional funeral or memorial service. The estate is proceeding with this festival format as an authentic tribute to her career and personality.
Evolution of the Original Vision
The roots of this project reach back to earlier plans for Parton's 80th birthday. The estate initially intended to host a multi-artist event in Nashville on January 19, 2026, which would have featured the artist as both host and performer. Health challenges during late 2025 forced a change in course.
Nozell explained that the team felt a responsibility to see the original dream through to completion. The event morphed from a singular birthday concert into a global, two-weekend affair across two continents. It serves as a physical embodiment of the common fan refrain, "What Would Dolly Do?" when facing difficult decisions regarding her public image.

The estate recognizes that various grassroots tributes will occur globally throughout the fall. Nozell clarified that they do not intend to hinder these organic expressions of grief. Instead, they view DollyFest as the official, organized effort that allows time for mourning and logistics.
