Attendees included political representatives and figures from the arts, reflecting the reach of his four-decade career in the Irish folk and rock music scene.
The service concluded with a private cremation. Family members expressed gratitude for the outpouring of affection from across the world. His legacy as a musician who encouraged others and responded to human need remains a central point of remembrance for all who knew his work.
