Authorities in Los Angeles County searched the home of actress Linda Blair on Friday as part of an ongoing investigation into a reported large-scale kennel operation. Officials from the Department of Animal Care and Control and the Department of Regional Planning executed an inspection warrant regarding allegations of an unlicensed facility housing more than 100 dogs on the premises.
Representatives from the county stated that kennel permits for the property expired in 2023. According to officials, the inspection serves to confirm whether the site meets current county codes. The primary goal remains the assessment of living conditions for the animals and the safety of individuals on the property.
Blair addressed the situation in a video posted to her social media accounts shortly after the search. She described the visit as a surprise and maintained that the issues involve paperwork rather than animal welfare concerns. She noted that she has been attempting to relocate for two years to improve her capacity to assist more animals.
Known for her long-standing work in animal rescue, Blair founded the Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation in 2003. The organization reports that it has saved thousands of dogs over the past two decades. County officials indicated the current investigation aims to verify compliance with local regulations regarding the scale of the operation.
