Molly Ringwald recently shared details about her time on the ABC Family drama The Secret Life of the American Teenager. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live this week, the actress assigned a one out of ten rating to her experience on the show. While she held affection for her fellow cast members, including on-screen daughter Shailene Woodley, she cited a specific, difficult co-worker as the primary reason for the low score.
Ringwald played the character Anne Juergens for five seasons between 2008 and 2013. Despite the tension on set, she opted not to identify the individual responsible for her negative view of the project. This candid assessment came as part of a segment where she reviewed various roles from her long career in film and television.
Her reflections on other projects offered a stark contrast. She awarded her 1986 film Pretty in Pink a perfect score of ten, noting that the late director John Hughes tailored the project specifically for her. She also expressed fondness for the production, save for some of the costumes.
Other ratings included an eight for the film Teaching Mrs. Tingle and a seven for Jem and the Holograms. She was less enthusiastic about early sitcom appearances, giving The Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes a two. Ringwald is currently preparing for the release of her latest film, One Night Only, which arrives in theaters on August 7.
