Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Vivienne asks court to drop her dad’s last name

Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, the 18-year-old daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court to remove her father's surname from her legal name. The document identifies her current name as Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, and the filing cites personal reasons for the request.

This legal action aligns with a pattern observed among the siblings following the conclusion of their parents' marriage. The couple's divorce was finalized in 2024 after an eight-year legal process that began shortly after their separation in 2016. Other children in the family have also initiated similar legal proceedings to modify their surnames, with some requests currently pending and others already granted by the court.

Vivienne had previously signaled this shift in her professional life. In May 2024, she was credited simply as Vivienne Jolie in the playbill for The Outsiders, a production she co-produced alongside her mother. This move reflects an ongoing change in how the younger members of the family represent their identity following the dissolution of the couple's relationship.

The court has scheduled a hearing on November 2 to address the petition. This development marks the latest chapter in the long-standing legal separation of the former couple, which has remained a subject of public attention since the initial filing in 2016.
