Boom-Boom leads a team that includes familiar faces and new recruits. Domino, Cable’s long-time partner, joins the roster. The team also counts Daken, known as Hellverine, among its members. Archangel and Ms. Marvel round out the group. The team is currently isolated and fighting for survival, having been framed for a crime they did not commit. They are operating without their former leader's resources.

Seeley describes the dynamic as a consequence of previous events, requiring the militant strike force to pick up the pieces. He points to Boom-Boom’s history with Cable as the primary reason she is the right choice for this role. She possesses years of observation and experience in tactical explosives. Seeley notes that while the team faces grave threats, Tabitha brings a new energy to the squad, even if she looks slightly different wearing her predecessor's oversized gear.

Artistic Direction and Industry Context

Marvel has selected Áthila Fabbio to handle the visuals for this series. Fabbio marks his debut with the company on this title. He gained his position through Marvel's international Art Atelier training program. The young artist has expressed excitement about working on characters he grew up watching in the 1990s. He specifically noted his appreciation for drawing Boom-Boom and his gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside Tim Seeley.

Fugitive X-Force #1 is scheduled for a December 9 release. The five-issue limited series follows a long history of X-Force iterations that began when Cable militarized the New Mutants. This particular book highlights the challenges of a team stripped of its traditional support structure. Readers should watch how Fabbio’s art style shapes the tone of the series, especially as it leans into the fugitive theme. The shift in leadership from a stoic mentor to a dynamic, explosive personality like Boom-Boom marks a significant change for the franchise.
