Marvel Studios has confirmed new casting details for the upcoming X-Men movie during the D23 event in Anaheim. Christopher Abbott joins the project as Charles Xavier, also known as Professor X. Adam Driver is on board for the film, with Inde Navarette taking the role of Rogue and Maya Boyd cast as Storm.

These actors join previously announced cast members Kit Connor as Cyclops and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost. Kevin Feige also introduced Sadie Sink on stage, who plays Jean Gray. The film marks a significant step forward for the franchise as the studio builds its new team of mutants.

Production on the film follows extensive casting efforts throughout the summer, with directors and studio executives conducting multiple rounds of testing. The script comes from The Bear co-creator Joanna Calo and Beef creator Lee Sung Jim, under the direction of Jake Schreier.

Fans have waited for this project since the 2019 acquisition of 20th Century Fox. The studio has set an official release date for the movie for May 5, 2028. This announcement provides a clear window for the return of the X-Men to the big screen.
