Neon has released the teaser trailer for Paper Tiger, the latest crime drama from director James Gray. Set in 1980s Queens, the narrative follows two brothers who encounter a risky business venture linked to the Gowanus Canal. What starts as a path to potential wealth quickly descends into a conflict with the Russian mafia, placing the safety of their suburban family in jeopardy and straining their relationship.
Adam Driver leads the cast as Gary Pearl, a former police officer who now operates as a city fixer. Miles Teller appears as his younger brother, Irwin, while Scarlett Johansson plays Irwin’s wife, Hester. The supporting cast includes Victor Ptak as a mob boss. This film premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and will arrive in select theaters on November 13, 2026.
James Gray returns to his New York City roots for this production. The screenplay focuses on the tension between personal ambition and family loyalty. Early festival screenings drew varied responses, though performances from the lead actors remain a point of interest for audiences. The studio plans a limited release following additional festival appearances this fall.
