A24 has released the first full trailer for Primetime. This film dramatizes the behind-the-scenes reality of the Dateline NBC segment To Catch a Predator. Robert Pattinson stars as host Chris Hansen. The trailer highlights the show's transition from a regular news segment to a massive television event.

Skyler Gisondo appears in the film as an actor cast to play a decoy. His role involves baiting internet users into the sting operation while the production team frames the pursuit as a form of moral justice. The trailer features a sequence where Pattinson tells Gisondo his work is cleansing the world of an ancient evil.

The project also features Merritt Wever as a producer along with Anna Faris and Bokeem Woodbine. Phoebe Bridgers makes her major film debut as a member of the sting team. The movie is directed by Lance Oppenheim.

Primetime will arrive in theaters on September 25. The release follows recent public interest in the legacy of the original program, including the documentary Predators which explored the show's impact and the consequences of its sting operations in the mid-2000s.
