‘Varanasi’: First Look At Priyanka Chopra In ‘RRR’ Director’s New Film
Director S.S. Rajamouli has revealed the first look at Priyanka Chopra in his upcoming film, Varanasi. The studio released two new images featuring Chopra as her character, Mandakini, to mark the occasion of her birthday this past Saturday.
Varanasi is an ambitious action-adventure production that covers thousands of years of history. The scope of the project includes filming locations ranging from Antarctica to Africa and the film's namesake city in India. This project follows Rajamouli's previous success, RRR, which earned a global reputation and an Academy Award for the track Naatu Naatu. Composer MM Keeravani is returning to work on the score for this new film.
The film features a lead cast including Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Chopra has expressed that working with Rajamouli is a unique experience for an actor, noting the director maintains total control on set. She stated that this allows performers to focus entirely on their characters without needing to worry about the logistics she usually handles as a producer.
Fans can expect to see Varanasi in theaters worldwide on April 7, 2027. While waiting for this release, audiences can also watch for Chopra in the upcoming survival thriller Reset. That production follows a woman who awakens in the wilderness with no memory, forced to trust a stranger played by Orlando Bloom to survive.
