Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently dominating the mainland China box office. The superhero blockbuster secured a massive $121.3 million gross within its first five days of release. Artisan Gateway data confirms that $19 million of that total originated from Imax screenings, marking the highest-grossing opening weekend for any Spider-Man entry in the territory.
The film maintained its top position over the July 31 to August 2 weekend with an additional $68.1 million. This strong performance arrives as overall mainland China box office revenue for 2026 hits $3.39 billion. Despite the success of high-profile releases, year-to-date revenue remains 32 percent behind the performance observed in 2025.
Other notable films in the market include the animated feature All Wishes Come True, which holds second place with a cumulative $171.5 million. The sports comedy Kung Fu Soccer remains a strong contender in third place, with a total haul reaching $318.5 million after four weeks in theaters. Competition at the box office continues as audiences prioritize large-scale theatrical experiences.
