Gojira is facing a change in their lineup for their upcoming United States festival dates. Drummer Mario Duplantier is unable to participate in these performances due to an ongoing immigration issue. The band confirmed that Duplantier attempted to resolve the matter but is currently unable to enter the country for these specific shows.

To ensure the scheduled appearances go ahead as planned, Gojira recruited Luigi Paraventi of the band Paleface Swiss. Paraventi will serve as the temporary drummer for the band during their upcoming stops at Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin, Upheaval Festival in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Inkcarceration Music and Tattoo Festival in Mansfield, Ohio.

Visa and immigration complications remain a significant hurdle for international touring artists. Gojira joins a growing number of acts in the metal community that have dealt with similar logistical obstacles this year. Other bands including Dogma and Enter Shikari have previously been forced to cancel or alter tour plans due to these regulatory delays.

Gojira expressed appreciation for Paraventi for stepping in on short notice. The band maintains that they look forward to performing at these festivals with their temporary guest. Fans can expect the scheduled performances to proceed as announced with the updated lineup.
