Classic Nu-Metal Band Returns After 20 Years + With New Name

Nu-metal band Skrape is returning to the music scene after a two-decade hiatus. Vocalist Billy Keeton initially announced plans to revive the group under their original name earlier this year. However, legal disputes with other original band members over the rights to the name brought those efforts to a halt.

Keeton has now cleared the path forward by adopting the new moniker Skrapegoat. The singer confirmed that while the legal conflict created an unexpected delay, the decision to move forward under a new identity allows the project to continue without further obstruction. Keeton remains the only officially announced member at this time.

Skrapegoat represents a restart rather than a reunion of the full original lineup. The project aims to blend the sound that defined the band's early 2000s era with new material. Keeton expressed that the positive response to the initial announcement convinced him that there is still a strong audience for the music.

The original Skrape pages have been temporarily reactivated to direct fans to the new band presence. Keeton plans to use the new official channels for all future updates regarding tour dates and new studio releases. The group originally formed in Florida in 1997 and released two albums, New Killer America and Up the Dose, before disbanding in 2004.

Fans have responded to the news with a mix of excitement for the return and questions regarding the absence of other original members. The band looks to honor their past work while focusing on the next phase of their career.
