The premise centers on the industry hunger for nostalgia and the pressure to repackage old concepts.
The narrative takes a turn when the executives become bored with the band's performance and release a swarm of bees onto the soundstage. This specific moment mirrors the use of dogs in the original 1994 video. After the band leaves the set, the executives recruit a group of celebrities to fill their spots. The replacement lineup features Tony Hawk, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Michael Peña, Giovanni Ribisi, Dax Flame, and Jay Renshaw.
This release precedes the arrival of The Gold Album, which is scheduled for August 21. Fans can expect further activity from the band as they have already shared tracks like We Might as Well Be Strangers and Shine Again. The project serves as a follow-up to their 2021 releases and coincides with a massive tour announcement. The group has confirmed a schedule of dates spanning the UK, Europe, and Japan for 2027.
