Western Kentucky is heading to the global stage. Katie and Charlotte Schultz, two sisters from Murray, are officially set to compete on Season 39 of The Amazing Race. The duo, both working as estheticians, will join other teams in a high-stakes competition spanning five continents, nine countries, and 13 cities.
Host Phil Keoghan introduced a major change for this season. Each participating team receives an Express Pass at the starting line in Vancouver. Teams must use these passes by the end of the sixth leg, forcing them to weigh their tactical options against the unpredictability of the race course. The journey covers more than 25,000 miles, including a first-time visit to Albania for the series.
The competition features a diverse lineup of contestants, ranging from professional athletes like Ali Krieger and Joanna Lohman to family duos and academic high-achievers. The production aims to highlight how everyday people manage extreme physical and mental tests in unfamiliar environments.
Viewers can catch the premiere event across two nights on September 30 and October 1. The episodes air from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on both dates. You can watch the broadcast on KFVS12 or stream the series on Paramount+.
