Showrunner Ryan Condal confirms that production for the fourth and final season of House Of The Dragon is proceeding on schedule. While fans of the series face a wait until 2027 for the next installment, the team is already moving forward with preparations for the conclusion of the Targaryen Civil War.

Pre-production activities are currently active for the summer months. The team is revising scripts, scouting new filming locations, and planning sets. Construction work is expected to begin at Leavesden studios once the initial planning stages conclude. Condal indicates that the upcoming season is structured entirely around payoff for the storylines established in previous years.

Filming is slated to begin in early 2027. Condal describes this final outing as the Last Dance, promising that viewers can expect a significant increase in the presence of dragons as the conflict intensifies. While House Of The Dragon remains in development, audiences can expect the next season of A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms to fill the gap in the Westeros timeline next year.
