The story escalates quickly as Bernadette transforms into a 60-foot monster determined to rule the universe and claim the group's teleportation technology. The chaos results in a massive showdown that sees the destruction of a miniature version of Pasadena.
Rauch collaborated with producer Chuck Lorre to develop this portrayal. She expressed enthusiasm about working with her former cast members again while exploring a much darker side of her established character. According to Rauch, the transition from playing a sensible scientist to a towering demonic force provided a rare opportunity to experiment with motion capture technology.
The filming process involved Rauch wearing a motion capture suit to navigate a detailed miniature set. She described the experience of acting at an exaggerated scale as thrilling. While the original Bernadette possessed a subtle edge, this version turns those traits up to an extreme level.
