Ryan de Nino, who appeared on the second season of the reality television series Married at First Sight, has died at the age of 40. De Nino gained public attention in 2014 when he participated in the social experiment format of the show, where he married Jessica Castro. The couple opted to remain together following the trial period, but their relationship concluded in 2015 shortly after the season finished airing. Their post-show separation became a matter of public record following legal disputes.
Following their split, Castro filed a restraining order against de Nino in 2015. Her legal counsel at the time cited alleged threats directed toward Castro and her family. The production company behind the series, Kinetic Content, stated at the time that they offered aftercare resources to the participants involved in the program.
In the wake of his death, de Nino’s sister, Melissa DeNino, posted a tribute on social media. She described her brother as a witty individual who maintained loyalty to those within his circle. She noted the difficulty of losing a sibling who shared her early life memories. Castro has since established a life away from the program, including welcoming a son in 2021.
