Peter Mossfield, the personality known for his BoozeBagFitness project, officially took the stage at the 2026 NPC East Coast Mecca Classic this past Saturday. His participation marked the end of an unconventional experiment where he claimed to combine heavy alcohol consumption and anabolic steroid use without engaging in weight training. Competing in the Men’s Classic Physique Open Class B category, Mossfield finished eighth out of eight placed competitors.
The circumstances surrounding the event were as unconventional as the preparation. Mossfield reported that he left the venue following the prejudging phase to consume alcohol. He later admitted to losing track of time, which resulted in him missing the evening finals and his individual posing routine entirely. He cited his lower alcohol tolerance, due to reduced drinking during the final weeks of prep, as a contributing factor to the lapse in judgment.
Despite the final result, Mossfield claimed he believed his physique was among the best in his class. He also pointed to his decision not to shave as a potential reason for the poor judging score, though the official tally stood firm. This event concluded the primary phase of his self-styled experiment, which generated significant discourse regarding the health risks associated with his methods.
Moving forward, Mossfield stated that he has ceased steroid use and intends to pivot his approach. He described himself as a born-again natural and plans to start a resistance training program to see if he can maintain the muscle mass gained during his period of chemical enhancement. His stated goals include monitoring his body's recovery and eventually exploring other challenges, such as baseball training or MMA, with his newfound focus on lifting.
Whether these future projects materialize remains to be seen. Mossfield has now followed through on his initial claim, completing the prep and stepping onto the stage despite widespread criticism. He now enters a new phase of physical training, promising to document whether he can achieve progress while abstaining from performance-enhancing drugs.
