Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch has announced that the state is part of a 48-state coalition reaching a $29.6 million settlement with Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. This legal action addresses allegations of price manipulation and anti-competitive behavior within the generic prescription drug market.

The settlement covers consumers who purchased specific generic drugs between May 2009 and December 2019. The state of Mississippi will receive approximately $237,000 from this agreement, which is part of a larger ongoing effort to penalize pharmaceutical companies for keeping prices artificially high for families.

This agreement follows previous settlements reached with other manufacturers, including Lannett, Bausch, Apotex, and Heritage. These combined actions have resulted in total settlements reaching $66.95 million. Attorney General Fitch emphasized that generic medications are intended to serve as affordable alternatives, and her office remains committed to holding companies accountable when they exploit that system.

Individuals who believe they are eligible for compensation can check their status through official channels. Residents can visit AGGenericDrugs.com for information or contact the settlement administrators via telephone at 1-866-290-0182. Those interested may also reach out via email at info@AGGenericDrugs.com.

The coalition includes a broad range of states and territories from across the country, spanning from Alaska to Puerto Rico. This coordinated multi-state effort focuses on restoring fairness to the pharmaceutical market and providing restitution to residents who were affected by these pricing schemes during the specified decade.
