Bengals rookie Landon Robinson starts foundation focused on youth mental health
Cincinnati Bengals rookie Landon Robinson is expanding his impact beyond the gridiron. Along with his mother, Patrice Robinson, he recently launched the Landon Robinson Foundation to provide mental health resources and advocacy for young people. The organization aims to bridge gaps in support by creating community events where families can access education and talk about emotional wellness in a safe environment.
Landon Robinson brings a unique perspective to this mission. As both a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps Reserve and an NFL player, he bridges different sectors of the community. His mother, who serves as the foundation's CEO, notes that his background allows him to connect with a wide range of individuals. The pair intends to use his platform to normalize conversations about mental health and provide tangible support systems.
The foundation focuses on a motto of Strong Minds, Strong Bodies. While the long-term objective involves opening a dedicated center for clinical evaluations and resources, the current strategy centers on community engagement and awareness. Patrice Robinson emphasizes that representation matters, as her son serves as a relatable figure for young people who may otherwise feel disconnected from traditional support structures.
To kick off their work, the foundation is hosting a public event on August 1 at the Kenwood Theatre. The gathering includes a family movie screening, a youth mental health panel, and a back-to-school supply giveaway. Interest in the event remains high, with organizers adding theater capacity to accommodate more families. This effort is part of a broader commitment by Robinson to give back to the city that welcomed him when he joined the Bengals. Future plans for the foundation include scholarship programs, networking for high school seniors, and local partnerships.
