Katseye member Sophia Laforteza is taking a temporary break from the group’s promotional activities. Her decision follows medical advice as she seeks to focus on her mental health and recovery.
The group announced the decision on Weverse, stating that the health and well-being of its artists remain a top priority. Her bandmates have expressed full support for the move, which will unfortunately see her miss upcoming performances, including the premiere of the group’s documentary, Katseye: Wild Hearts.
Laforteza shared a personal message with fans acknowledging the difficulty of stepping away. She noted that she loves performing but recognizes that prioritizing her health now is the only way to sustain her career over the long term. This is the second time this year a member of the group has taken a break, following Manon Bannerman’s hiatus in February.
Katseye is currently in the middle of a high-pressure period with the release of their new EP, Wild, scheduled for August 13, followed by a tour later this year. The remaining members—Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, and Yoonchae Jeung—will continue with the group’s planned activities while Laforteza recovers.
