Horizon Quantum and Quantum Machines are collaborating to improve the operational stability of quantum computers. This partnership focuses on the Ember-1 superconducting quantum computer testbed, which now uses the OPX1000 control system. The goal is to move away from long, manual calibration cycles by creating embedded, lightweight routines.
Calibration determines the accuracy of quantum calculations, but the process often forces extended system downtime. By building calibration directly into the operational flow, the companies plan to update system parameters in real-time. This approach aims to maximize uptime and maintain high performance during extended runtimes.
This initiative supports the broader goal of making quantum hardware more practical for daily use. With improved stability, users on the Ember-1 system gain more access time, while engineers test the capabilities of advanced control hardware in a production-like environment. The project merges software infrastructure expertise with specialized quantum control technology.
