Athletics prospect Ryan Lasko says feeling in his legs returning

Athletics prospect Ryan Lasko shared a positive update on his recovery today. Lasko, who suffered a fractured C6-C7 vertebra after a collision with a teammate four weeks ago, reports that feeling is returning to his legs.

In a recent statement, Lasko noted that he has regained sensation from his feet up to his knees. He also reports experiencing involuntary leg movements and is regaining feeling in his thighs, hamstrings, and back. Additionally, Lasko is seeing improvements in his hand usage, with 75% functionality in his left hand and 50% in his right.

The 24-year-old outfielder underwent surgery on June 30 following the on-field incident in Frisco, Texas. He continues his rehabilitation process while expressing gratitude for the ongoing support from fans and the baseball community.

Lasko was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the second round of the 2023 amateur draft out of Rutgers. He spent time playing for Midland in Double-A and Las Vegas in Triple-A, establishing himself as a notable talent in the organization.
