Following the flyout, Duran returned to the dugout and gestured toward third base while appearing to shout. Later reports confirmed he slammed his helmet, which caused a water pipe to spray inside the dugout area. Despite the visual outburst, teammates and coaching staff characterized the event as a display of self-directed anger rather than a conflict with others.

Contreras stated that he holds no personal animosity toward Duran. He emphasized that the situation was not personal and noted that the team understands Duran plays with high emotional intensity. The first baseman expressed support for his teammate, stating that he values the energy Duran brings to the club.

Interim manager Chad Tracy confirmed that the player was upset with his own performance during the plate appearance. Duran himself acknowledged his recent struggles at the plate, noting that he is currently having a difficult season compared to his previous performance levels. He currently carries a batting line of .195/.252/.337 through 101 games.
