Twins, Phillies unveil special Field of Dreams game uniforms
The Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies are preparing to step back in time for the upcoming Field of Dreams game on August 13. Major League Baseball unveiled the specialized uniforms for both teams this week, signaling a return to the historic site in Dyersville, Iowa.
Minnesota will take the field in an all-white design featuring navy blue pinstripes. The jersey displays a navy blue wordmark with red trim, accented by the classic Minnie and Paul logo on the sleeve. This patch honors a design that served as a staple for the club between 1961 and 1986.
Philadelphia chose a different path, opting for a throwback look inspired by the road uniforms worn from 1939 to 1941. These gray jerseys feature a slanted red wordmark with a navy outline, paired with a simple navy cap. A special sleeve patch commemorates the league's 1939 centennial celebration, mirroring the history of the sport.
This matchup marks the third time Major League Baseball hosts a game at this venue. Fans remember the 2021 inaugural thriller between the Yankees and White Sox, followed by a 2022 game involving the Cubs and Reds. Since that last contest, the site underwent significant renovations to expand the facility near the iconic film location. Players and fans alike wait to see how these designs look under the Iowa lights.
