Three of the worst-rated umpires in Major League Baseball have one thing in common

CB Bucknor leads the bottom group with an accuracy rating of just 91.33 percent. O'Nora and Diaz are hovering slightly above him at 92 percent accuracy. Each of these three officials signed off on a buyout deal, ensuring their departures at the end of the year. They are not alone in this move, as seven total umpires have accepted buyouts to conclude their careers when the regular season ends.

Whether these performance numbers are a result of age or the common phenomenon of players and officials checking out before retirement remains a debate among fans. While other names like Lance Barksdale, Marvin Hudson, and Andy Fletcher also appear in the lower rankings, the exit of the veteran trio stands out as the league prepares for a new generation of officials.
