Patrick Emerling climbs to the top of White Mountain, earns second consecutive victory – Short Track Scene

Patrick Emerling secured a hard-fought victory at White Mountain Motorsports Park on Sunday, marking his second consecutive win on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. The points leader faced early adversity when an air cleaner component failed on his car during the 200-lap event, forcing the team to make quick adjustments and mid-race strategy changes.

Emerling navigated the field effectively after taking a fresh set of tires during a caution period, allowing him to regain track position. He eventually moved to the lead after passing rookie Paulie Hartwig III and maintained his position through the closing laps to lock in his 11th career tour victory. This win provides him with significant momentum as he continues his pursuit of the season championship.

Despite a strong showing, runner-up Austin Beers expressed frustration after the race. Beers led a substantial portion of the event until a late-race caution reshuffled the field, allowing Emerling to capitalize on the restart. While Beers achieved his best finish of the 2026 season, he noted that the race felt like a missed opportunity for a victory.

Hartwig secured third place, which stands as his career-best performance on the tour to date. Tyler Rypkema finished in fourth, with Matt Hirschman rounding out the top five. The series now moves to Monadnock Speedway for the final leg of the midsummer championship events next weekend.
