The Dallas Mavericks finalized a three-year, $52.2 million contract extension with forward Naji Marshall on Sunday. This deal is fully guaranteed and keeps Marshall in Dallas through the 2029-2030 season.
Marshall joined the Mavericks before the 2024-2025 season after spending his first five years in the league with the New Orleans Pelicans. During his time in Dallas last year, he appeared in 74 games and made 47 starts. He posted career-high numbers, averaging 15.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game over 29.5 minutes of play.
The organization views this extension as a move to secure roster depth for the future. While Marshall is slated to continue his work as a key bench contributor, his ability to fill in as a starter provides the coaching staff with tactical flexibility. This signing aligns with broader efforts by the front office to improve the roster following a difficult 26-56 campaign last season.
This offseason remains active for the franchise. The Mavericks have been aggressive in the trade market, recently acquiring forward Santi Aldama from the Memphis Grizzlies and trading for former top pick Zaccharie Risacher from the Atlanta Hawks. The team also added center Moussa Cisse as they look to build around their young core and return to competitive form.
