The Boston Celtics have secured forward Jordan Walsh with a three-year contract extension worth $15 million. This deal keeps the young forward with the franchise through the 2029-30 season. Walsh also had his $2.4 million option for the 2026-27 season picked up by the team.
This decision comes after a productive campaign where Walsh became a staple in the rotation. He appeared in 68 games, including 25 starts, and recorded career highs with 5.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest. His development as a shooter stands out, as he hit 38 percent of his shots from beyond the arc last season compared to 27 percent during his first two years.
The 6-foot-6 forward originally entered the league as a second-round pick in 2023. His consistent growth helped him earn a spot in the primary plans for head coach Joe Mazzulla. As the Celtics adjust their roster following the major move that sent Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George, the front office clearly values the stability and floor spacing that Walsh provides on the wing.
