Sixers Waive Dalen Terry

The Philadelphia 76ers announced today that the team has officially waived guard/forward Dalen Terry. Terry carried a non-guaranteed contract worth $2.6 million, which clears his salary from the books without additional financial penalties for the organization. This move is part of the team's ongoing efforts to manage its payroll and roster spots effectively.

This decision comes as the Sixers work to navigate the financial restrictions associated with being hard-capped at the first apron. The front office is currently working through the technical requirements to finalize the recent signings of LeBron James and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Because of these constraints, the team must make specific roster adjustments to clear enough space under the cap to register both incoming players.

While Terry is now free to seek opportunities elsewhere, this is not the end of the roster changes for Philadelphia. The team still holds another non-guaranteed contract with Jabari Walker and maintains options to trade or waive other roster members. The goal is to reach full compliance with the league salary rules before the start of the upcoming season.

Terry arrived in Philadelphia earlier this year after stints with the Chicago Bulls and New Orleans Pelicans. He will now enter the open market as an unrestricted free agent.
