Mizzou Basketball Roster: Figuring out the playing rotation for 2026-27

It is that time of year again when the sports calendar slows down and we turn our focus to the upcoming basketball season. We are looking at the potential 2026-27 rotation for Mizzou Basketball and trying to identify which eight players will see the most time on the floor. Coach Dennis Gates has shifted his approach, moving from deeper lineups toward a tighter rotation as the season progresses.

We recently conducted a fan survey to see how the community views the current roster hierarchy. Jason Crowe, Jr. leads the consensus as the primary offensive engine, with Trent Pierce and Jamier Jones also viewed as essential parts of the rotation. Voters largely agree on the top six or seven players, though roles for others remain fluid based on consistency and defensive performance.

There are questions regarding how newcomers like Bryson Tiller and Jaylen Carey will adjust to their roles. Additionally, players such as Aaron Rowe and Trent Burns occupy interesting positions where their development could significantly shift the team output. While the top tier of the roster appears relatively stable, the exact distribution of minutes will depend on how these players handle their defensive assignments and perimeter shooting consistency throughout the year.
