The Pittsburgh Penguins have secured forward Tommy Novak with a new three-year contract. The deal is worth $13.95 million, resulting in an average annual value of $4.65 million. This agreement will begin with the 2027-28 season. Novak remains under contract for the upcoming year based on his previous agreement signed in 2024.
Novak recorded 42 points, including 16 goals and 26 assists, during his 82-game tenure with the team last season. He also contributed two assists throughout six Stanley Cup Playoff games. The forward stated that negotiations concluded quickly after the organization reached out to his representatives.
Expressing his satisfaction with the commitment, Novak noted the team’s belief in his progression. He aims to improve his consistency on the ice throughout the season. By locking in his future in Pittsburgh, Novak plans to focus entirely on his on-ice performance without distractions during the final year of his current deal.
Since being selected in the 2015 NHL Draft, Novak has accumulated 159 points across 285 career games. He continues to play a significant role within the Penguins' forward group, often rotating with high-level playmakers to drive the team's offensive production. The organization expects him to maintain this output as the team looks toward the coming years.
