Man United in advanced transfer talks with Juventus as £30m option on the table
Manchester United are currently in advanced negotiations with Juventus regarding a potential loan move for striker Joshua Zirkzee. The proposed deal includes a 30 million pound option for the Italian club to make the transfer permanent. This shift in the squad comes as the 25-year-old finds himself behind Benjamin Sesko and Mateus Cunha in the current pecking order at Old Trafford.
Since his arrival in 2024, Zirkzee has struggled to secure a consistent starting position. Across 56 Premier League appearances for the club, the forward has recorded five goals. Despite the player's personal desire to remain in Manchester and fight for his place under Michael Carrick, the organization appears prepared to move on from the initial 36.5 million pound investment made two years ago.
Juventus turned their attention to Zirkzee after negotiations to sign Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain hit a standstill. The Italian club sees a need for reinforcements in the striker position, and they consider Zirkzee a viable target given his previous experience in Serie A with Bologna and Parma. While Roma has also shown interest, reports suggest Juventus has moved ahead in discussions with the player's representatives.
Club officials at Old Trafford acknowledge that the proposed 30 million pound buy option represents a fair current valuation of the player. Zirkzee recently participated in a 5-0 pre-season win against Rosenborg, yet his broader performance record suggests that a change of scenery may be necessary. As the transfer window progresses, his future remains a focal point for the club as they shape the squad for the upcoming season.
