Professional tennis player Sebastian Korda has undergone successful back surgery. The 26-year-old American made the announcement on Saturday, marking a step toward his return to the court.
Korda has not competed since March, when he reached the fourth round of the Miami Open. He stated that he spent the last four months managing persistent back pain and sciatica issues. After exploring various treatment options, he opted for the surgical procedure to resolve the condition.
Following the surgery, Korda thanked Dr. Qureshi and his medical team. He expressed his relief at finally addressing the pain and stated that he is now focused on his recovery.
Before this injury, Korda maintained a 12-6 record for the 2026 season. His highlights included winning his third career title in Delray Beach and securing a victory over Carlos Alcaraz during the Miami tournament. The tour and his supporters now await his eventual return.
