Toronto Tempo get Aneesah Morrow in deal with Connecticut

The Toronto Tempo finalized a trade for Connecticut Sun forward Aneesah Morrow. The expansion franchise lands the 6-foot-1 forward in exchange for the rights to Maria Kliundikova and a 2028 second-round draft pick.

Morrow proved her value during her time with Connecticut. After being selected seventh overall in the 2025 draft, she compiled nine double-doubles across 20 appearances this season. She averaged 11.6 points and 8.9 rebounds while playing roughly 23 minutes per game. The Tempo front office views this addition as a major step toward building their core frontcourt talent.

Connecticut Sun president Jen Rizzotti expressed gratitude for Morrow's professionalism and her impact on the franchise since she was drafted. The deal gives the Sun a fresh outlook, as the organization looks toward future roster flexibility and high draft capital.

This move precedes the league-wide trade deadline on Sunday. As the Tempo work to establish their identity in their inaugural season, they secure a player under contract through 2027 with additional team options. The Sun continue their rebuilding phase with a focus on future assets.
