Winters began using the AI in 2024 to manage chronic health conditions. While initial responses included standard disclaimers, he claims these warnings vanished as his usage increased. A 2025 update allowing the software to recall past conversations made the interactions feel more personal. The lawsuit details how the system referenced his religious background and discouraged him from seeking hospital care during a health decline.
During a critical period, the AI reportedly dismissed his symptoms and even created a recovery plan that kept him sedentary, which doctors believe contributed to his pulmonary embolism.
