OpenAI faces a period of leadership uncertainty as it prepares for an initial public offering. Chief revenue officer Denise Dresser announced her departure on Thursday, following the exit of operating chief Brad Lightcap earlier this week. These departures arrive as the company navigates a 852 billion dollar valuation and seeks to maintain momentum against competitors such as Anthropic and Google.

Dresser joined OpenAI in December from Slack with a mandate to expand the enterprise business. The company reports that under her leadership the enterprise segment grew to 2 million customers. Dali Rajic, former chief operating officer at Wiz, has been named as the new chief revenue officer to manage the next phase of business execution.

This C-suite transition follows a string of executive departures over the past year. Earlier in 2026, top-ranking executive Fidji Simo stepped down for health reasons, and several other vice presidents left in April. Investors remain cautious as they weigh this turnover against the company's stated growth in monthly recurring revenue, which Brockman noted increased by 20 percent in July.

The internal movement comes against a backdrop of public scrutiny surrounding the company's governance. CEO Sam Altman continues to address questions about stability following his brief removal from the board in 2023 and the subsequent legal disputes with Elon Musk. Investors will look to CFO Sarah Friar for further clarity on company strategy during meetings scheduled for the end of this week. OpenAI has confidentially filed its IPO paperwork but has not yet announced a timeline for the public debut.
