OpenAI announced on Thursday that Denise Dresser is leaving her position as Chief Revenue Officer. She served in the role for eight months. This exit follows the departure of longtime executive Brad Lightcap earlier this week. Another key leader, product and business chief Fidji Simo, left the firm last month. These transitions occur as the company prepares for a highly anticipated initial public offering. OpenAI filed its prospectus with regulators in June.

Dresser joined OpenAI in December after a ten-year tenure at Salesforce. Her departure presents a challenge for the company as it seeks to grow its enterprise business. During her short time at the lab, she focused on acquiring corporate customers to compete with Anthropic. In January, finance chief Sarah Friar stated that enterprise accounts made up 40 percent of the company's business. Dresser was expected to lead the charge in pushing that figure toward 50 percent by year-end.

The company has already named a successor. Dali Rajic, formerly the president and chief operating officer of the cybersecurity firm Wiz, will take over the revenue division. Dresser stated she is working with company leadership to manage the transition before her final exit. She expressed pride in the team's output during her time at the organization.

OpenAI faces pressure to perform as it approaches its public market debut. The company closed a funding round in March at an 852 billion dollar valuation. Investors remain focused on how the leadership team will scale operations and secure market share in a competitive sector. These executive changes arrive during a critical stretch of planning for the upcoming IPO.
